There are many ways that you might choose to make your way through the unit. The diagram and suggested sessions (below) will help to plan your learning through the Work Effectively in Hospitality Service unit. Session 1 - Prepare for Service - Pink tiles

1. Describe two (2) aspects of a Food and Beverage Attendant's roles and responsibilities.
2. How do work schedules and checklists help you plan and organise your preparation tasks? Why is this important?
Session 2 - Provide Service - Aqua & Yellow tiles
This includes:
- Quality Customer Service.
- Good/bad Service.
- Information you should know.
- Greeting the customer.
- Interacting with a diverse range of customers.
- Selling Techniques
- Solving problems
- Unhappy customers
A few points to think about for your blog:
- Why are meeting customer expectations an important component of providing quality customer service?
- Why is good product knowledge and providing accurate information important when helping customers to meet their individual needs, requests or requirements?
- Provide one (1) example of how and when you have promoted a product or service in your workplace. Which selling technique is this?
Session 3 - Complete Operational Tasks - Red & Purple tiles
This includes:
- Working as a team.
- Working safely.
- Working hygienically.
- Completing operational tasks
- Preventing service issues.
- Preventing problems
- End of shift procedures
- Participate in a de-briefing
- Reporting
- Continuous Improvement
A few points to think about for your blog:
3. List four (4) reports or documents you might complete at the end of your
shift.
1. What are organisational procedures and what do they do?
2. What are two types of technology you or others currently use in your
workplace or training environment to help you complete your operational tasks
efficiently?
4. What is the purpose of a shift debriefing? Describe what details and information about a product or service you have passed on to your colleagues during a team debriefing.
